I really thought this was gonna be a bad movie. But I went with my mom, and bro and sis and I actually anjoyed it very much)Funny and most heartwarming Defenitly a must see!!!

Elf was quite funny! OMG IT'S SANTA! Haha that was so funny although it was missing something I'm not sure what but it was... It was a good family movie people in the theater couldn't stop laughing although it could've been the lady who sounded like a hyena? Anyways back to the movie it was very good and reccommend to all age groups!

It was an okay movie. There were some funny parts and some sentimental "touchy" moments, but my three-year-old learned the word "boring" from going with me to see this. It is worth seeing if you have nothing better to do, but you might prefer to rent this one - or maybe you could just skip it and see something else.

I went to see Elf not expecting much and boy was I surprised! It turned out to be an excellent movie. Very original story with excellent performances, especially from Will Ferrell, and Zooey Deschanel;what a voice! I walked out in a very good mood and very relaxed. Amust see duriing the holiday season with the entire family. I went to see it only with my wife but now I plan to send my two teens to watch it.

If you want to laugh, this is the movie to see. A comedey for all ages, cute love story. My whole family adored this movie and so did I. Great ending. I would highly recommend this movie and I did.

elf was great! It's more for grown up than for kids, suitable for both. Will ferell is so funny! He's a surprising comedian. The story is original, but on the other hand, some facts are not logical. 1- the personnality of the wife doesnt fit with the personality of the father. 2- I think it's a little late(or really TOO soon) to conceive new child's book in x-mas time when they should be on market weeks before it. 3- how could a woman, falls in love with a guy who has a 6 yr old mentality? It is maybe cute, but love is about physical attraction and money. And, the film was too short and the characters aren't developped at all. Despite theses little imperfections, it is still a movie to see, cuz it lights up the x-mas spirit (and it is funny)

For a potentially very funny movie, Elf is lacking. It seems like a very small budget film. The cartoons in the beginning are either trying too hard to force memories of bad television Christmas specials, or they didn't have enough money for anything better. Although it was still hilarious it could definitely use some improvements. Wait until it's released on video, if you see it at all.

Movie is pretty good. It captures well the spirit of x-mas and would be best enjoyed with family. Although I was expecting somethin in the lines of old school (which this movie is nothin like), I was still able to make the best of this movie. Classic Will Ferrel stupidity (this time censored for the kids...) and children x-mas magic..

When you cast Will Ferrel in a movie like this he is either going to make or break your film. I expected him to be his usual crude and vulgar self. But he really surprised me and pulled a sweet and convincing performance. Elf is a very simple storyline, straight out of old time Hollywood heaven. The basic premise is a human who was raised as an elf discovers his true heritage and goes to live meet his true parents. What is truly great about this movie is the character development. Buddy the elf is quirky, sweet, and comical; everything you'd want in a main character. His girlfriend is synical, shy, and cute. His father is an overworking, self-centered tough guy who learns how to spend more time with his family through Buddy. And his stepfather is Bob Newhart, need I say more? All the characters are perfectly crafted and brought together by a simple but charming and well thought out script. Elf is a great holiday film and is an eventual classic and the best family film of the year.

I wasn't sure if I wanted to see this. I thought it would be a stupid movie. I loved it. It was a great movie for kids (brought my 11 and 8 yr. Old along)and grownups like me. Its about being accepted for who you are, about believing and having faith in what we can't see (Santa) Its full of charm and innocense, full of laughs and it's the kind of movie you want to bring your kids to. It's a great christmas movie!

It was very funny and we really enjoyed it with the kids. The part with the snowball fight is hysterical. This really validates the need for Christmas Spirit--we all need to believe and feel warm inside. The scenes were well done and sets were elaborate.

Elf is such a good movie! It'll make you laugh soo hard and it'll make you tear its such a sweet movie... Will Farrell usually has a very bad sense of humor and sumtimes is too too stupid but in this movie its just really funny.. he makes the movie hes perfectly chosen for the part and wut he does is just soo perfect! You should really go see it I'm 15 and I loved it my brother who's 10 loved it and even my math teacher whos in his 50s said he loved it its for all ages! Its an excellent comedy for your family, a date or on your own! I recommend it 100%.

Excellent movie. I loved Will's enthusiasm in this movie and it brougt me out of my typical "grinch" attitude towards Christmas. Great movie but Favreau, what happened buddy. You got lose some weight!! You are a far cry from your "Swingers" days.

My sister and I watched this movie together. It has lots of sentiment to it. Will Ferrell is perfect for this roll; he plays the innocent elf so good! I also cried during the entire fourth quarter, especially when the group of pppl and newscrew stared singing! I highly recomend this movie not for just kids, the adults should see it too! My daughter and I laughed ourselves silly. It was pleasantly surprising, not what the previews indicate. Good acting, great costumes, good story, not slapsticky. Bob Newhart is as wonderfully deadpan as ever. Will Ferrell does a great job as Buddy. Great ending and don't forget the 4 food groups.

Very very nice movie... it's nice to have something you can bring your kids or grandkids to see. Thank you for putting out a wholesome, family oriented movie. We need more of them and less of the mindnumbing movies that the industry is poisoning our teens with.
