Paper Moon

In this Great Depression tale, a con man takes along an orphaned girl who cons her way into his heart. Heartwarming, if you forget the whole part about them scamming money from widows. And the whole extorting money from her only living relative subplot. More like: terrible man meets terrible girl in terrible times. They do terrible things. Also, she cockblocks him from hooking up with a stripper. The leads are acted by an actual father and daughter, which makes that last part kinda creepy.
