An up-and-coming Hoboken nightclub singer who wants to be a rock star falls in love with a shy young deaf teacher who aspires to be a dancer in this romantic drama. Rosemarie Lemon's (Amy Irving) family doesn't believe in her dreams, but sensitive Drew Rothman (Michael Ontkean) does, and they become lovers.
